SMS Terms and Conditions
Effective September 16, 2026
These SMS Terms and Conditions govern text messages sent by iTalk Speech & Language Center (“iTalk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. SMS program
The iTalk Speech & Language Center SMS Program provides text notifications related to appointments, including reminders, confirmations, cancellations, and scheduling updates, as well as patient portal activity and other account-related notifications. This program is not used to provide emergency services or medical advice.
2. Opt-in is required
You must affirmatively opt in before you can receive these SMS notifications. You may opt in through the iTalk patient portal by selecting the SMS consent option and providing a mobile telephone number.
By opting in, you authorize iTalk Speech & Language Center to send automated text messages to the mobile number you provided for the purposes described above. If you do not opt in, you will not receive these SMS notifications. Consent to receive text messages is not required to receive care, treatment, services, or benefits from iTalk Speech & Language Center.
You represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided and that you are authorized to consent to receiving messages at that number.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and patient portal activity.
4. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier's standard messaging and data charges may apply to each message sent or received. Contact your wireless carrier for information about your mobile plan.
5. How to opt out
You may unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, you may receive one final confirmation message stating that you have been unsubscribed. You will not receive additional messages from this SMS program unless you opt in again.
Supported opt-out commands may include STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT.
6. How to get help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance. You may also contact iTalk Speech & Language Center at 201-419-6114.
7. No emergencies or urgent medical communications
Do not use text messaging to communicate an emergency, an urgent medical concern, or other time-sensitive health information. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
8. Message delivery
Delivery of text messages is subject to the availability and operation of wireless networks and services. Message delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful for reasons outside our control. Wireless carriers are not responsible or liable for delayed or undelivered messages. iTalk Speech & Language Center does not guarantee that every message will be delivered or received within a particular period.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Information associated with this SMS program is handled according to our Notice of Privacy Practices.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Text messages may be visible to anyone who has access to your phone. Standard SMS is not guaranteed to be encrypted or secure. By opting in, you acknowledge these risks and agree to take reasonable steps to protect access to your device.
10. Changing your telephone number
You agree to provide an accurate mobile number and to update your information if your number changes. If you stop using or transfer your mobile number, you should unsubscribe before discontinuing use of that number or contact us at 201-419-6114.
11. Program availability and changes
We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the SMS program at any time. We may also update these SMS Terms and Conditions. Updated terms will be posted on this publicly accessible page with a revised effective date. Your continued participation in the SMS program after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
